However, their friendship in the years since has been the source of some speculation, though Francia said in 2023, "I knew I was a match, I knew it was going to happen. No one forced me to do anything. It came out of the genuine kindness of my heart. And I've been super blessed ever since." Frazer Harrison / Getty Images In a Spanish-language interview with Magaly Ortiz published on Sept. 25 (Selena's wedding was on the 28th), Francia was asked whether she and Selena had been able to "reconcile" their friendship. "Oh my God. You know what? I'm not going to talk about that right now. But I do know that she's getting married and I'm very happy for her," Francia replied. Vivien Killilea "She has a life and she's already a billionaire and I'm grateful that I was able to do that for her," she continued. Gilbert Flores / Variety via Getty Images When asked for her advice for potential donors, Francia said that doctors compared it to donating money to charity: "You're not going to call and say, 'What are you doing with my dollar?' It's a donation and it's something beautiful that I was able to do. I'm grateful that I'm alive and able to say that I've saved a life." "Okay, so what you're asking me about right now are jokes that have been in the media, and there are too many rumors. I've never said anything," Francia replied. "When that rumor came out that I had gotten angry or something like that because [Selena] was smoking, I wasn't aware of those rumors. TMZ called me, I was working."
