As July wraps up, some streamers are holding off on releasing big, buzzworthy shows. Others, like Hulu and Paramount+, are streaming some of the boldest - and funniest - shows of the year. This weekend, Hulu is gifting its subscribers Washington Black, the eight-episode adaptation of the award-winning 2018 novel of the same name. The series stars Paradise's Sterling K. Brown as a mentor to a runaway slave in 19th-century North America. In contrast, Paramount+ is releasing season 27 (!) of one of those most enduring animated comedies ever made, South Park.
