Kristin Cavallari is back and better than ever - and she's ready to talk about the upcoming Laguna Beach reunion. Cavallari, 38, returned to her "Let's Be Honest" podcast on Tuesday, October 7, following a one-month hiatus with some life updates. She couldn't help but share a few details about how she and Stephen Colletti pushed for the Laguna Beach reunion. "I am so excited. OK, so how this came to be. This has been in the works for a minute, you guys," the reality star shared. "Stephen and I, we obviously did the 'Back to the Beach' podcast, which wrapped, I mean, over two years ago." She and Colletti, 39, came up with the idea for the reunion special "before" that podcast came to an end. "It's funny because Stephen and I talked about how we would love to do a reunion in Cabo. How fun would that have been? Getting the whole cast to Cabo and doing it like at Squid Roe [nightclub] with a live audience," she said. "It would have been so fun, but unfortunately, the producers didn't go for that." Kristin Cavallari and 'Laguna Beach' OGs Reunite During Live Podcast Taping Instead, they called Lauren Conrad. "We got Lauren on board, which I know is huge, because I know she in the past has not done much. I think the 'Back to the Beach' podcast was the first thing she had done. So that was very cool," Cavallari continued. "The three of us are executive producers." Alberto Tamargo/Getty Images It "took a minute" for the trio to pitch the reunion. But it finally "found a home" on Roku. "It's going to be a two-hour special. I don't know exactly what I can or can't say," Cavallari continued. "No one has told me specifically, but I've seen everyone else be pretty vague on social media, so I feel like I should follow suit because I'm typically the one that says too much and then I do get in trouble for it." Conrad, 39, confirmed via Instagram late last month that the Laguna Beach crew would be reuniting next year. She shared a photo of the reality show's original cast, which included Colletti and Cavallari, along with Morgan Smith, Christina Sinclair, Trey Phillips, Lo Bosworth and Talan Torriero. 'Laguna Beach' Cast: Where Are They Now? The show originally premiered via MTV in 2004 and followed the lives of several high school students, and was especially focused on the love triangle between Cavallari, Conrad and Colletti. The trio even got producer Liz Gateley (who created the original series) on board for the reunion. "When I first pitched the show to my bosses at MTV, never in a million years did I think we would find such a perfect group of real friends. The show not only changed my life and the cast's lives, but the series meant so much to a generation of fans who've been waiting for this," Gateley said in a statement last month. "To partner with Roku to reunite the cast and produce this special with Lauren, Stephen and Kristin as executive producers 20 years later is a dream." Roku Presents: The Laguna Beach Reunion will debut on The Roku Channel in 2026.
