Prince William is reportedly making his new Forest Lodge home in Windsor his permanent residence. 2. Making the royal family less formal Prince William wants the royal family to be less about pomp and circumstance and more about philanthropy. "I'm trying to do it differently, and I'm trying to do it for my generation," he said in a 2024 interview. "To give you more of an understanding around it, I'm doing it with maybe a smaller R in the 'royal,' if you like - that's maybe a better way of saying it. ... It's more about impact philanthropy, collaboration, convening and helping people. And I'm also going to throw empathy in there as well because I really care about what I do. It helps impact people's lives. And I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world." 3. Focus on areas of philanthropy that need the most help The Firm currently helps hundreds of charities across the U.K. Prince William will reportedly focus on causes such as homelessness, the environment, mental health and emergency services. 4. Being more outspoken on social issues King Charles III was outspoken on social issues before he became England's monarch. Prince William plans to be more vocal about evoking positive change when he takes the throne. Pairing down members of The Firm With Prince Harry living in America and Prince Andrew exiled due to his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Prince William will continue to slim down the number of working members of the royal family.
