Kathryn Dennis was hit with a lawsuit from a man who allegedly suffered "serious" injuries in a 2024 DUI crash involving the Southern Charm alum, Us Weekly can report. On August 14, a man named Larry Patrick Griffin filed a complaint against the former Bravo star, 34, in South Carolina. Griffin said he was driving a 2012 Honda sedan on May 20, 2024. He claimed that while he was stopped in traffic in the "Northbound lane of Highway 52, in the City of Goose Creek," South Carolina, Dennis, who was driving a 2018 GMC pickup truck, smashed into a 2017 Nissan pickup truck in the rear, which in turn, caused the Nissan to strike" his car in the rear. In the suit, Griffin claimed Dennis was "under the influence and sway of alcohol and/or controlled substances." Griffin said as a result of the accident, which he blamed solely on Dennis' negligence, he has "suffered serious bodily injury, pain and suffering, and mental anguish, and will continue to do so in the future." He claimed that Dennis made the "conscious decision to drive a motor vehicle on a public roadway while under the influence and intoxication of alcoholic beverages." Berkeley County Sheriff's Office In addition, he said his car suffered property damage as a result of Dennis driving under the influence, failing to maintain a proper lookout, failing to keep her vehicle under control, failing to apply her brakes and failing to utilize to use a degree of care and caution that a "reasonable prudent person would have used under the circumstances then and there prevailing." Griffin demanded unspecified damages from his lawsuit. Dennis has yet to respond to the lawsuit. Kathryn Dennis Cries in Dashcam Video From Arrest: 'Ruining My Life' On Friday, October 3, Dennis was sentenced to 30 days in jail over a three-car crash on May 20, 2024, on Highway 52, per local reports. Officers arrived at the scene to find witnesses who claimed Dennis seemed impaired. The officer noted Dennis had glossy eyes. A report noted an unopened mini bottle of Fireball was found inside the car. Dennis denied she had taken any medicine or that she drank before driving. Later during questioning, Dennis reportedly admitted to police she did drink alcohol but had consumed the beverages "way earlier" before getting behind the wheel.
