The first batch of episodes from Season 9 of Love Is Blind aired on Netflix last week, and one particular scene has sparked a heap of outrage. The scene in question featured contestants Kalybriah "KB" Haskin and Edmond Harvey, who were 27 and 28, respectively, at the time of filming. Like the other couples on the show, Kalybriah and Edmond got engaged sight-unseen after forming a strong connection in the pods. Netflix While everything seemed great between Kalybriah and Edmond, even after they saw each other in person, things took a turn during their trip to Mexico with the other couples - namely after Edmond learned that they were the only pair who hadn't yet had sex. Let's talk tea!See our Love is Blind Discussions Addressing the subject with her, Edmond asked KB about the men she'd previously slept with that she didn't make "wait." In response, she explained that those people were men with whom she didn't want any sort of long-term commitment. Netflix After hearing this, Edmond became visibly frustrated that KB wanted to wait until marriage before sleeping with him. "I'm giving you my all, KB," he said. "I'm the only dude on the trip that ain't get to have sex...I'm giving you my all!" Netflix "You let dudes that ain't even care about you... have sex with you? Oh my fucking goodness," he said before adding, "Really though, like what the fuck?" Netflix Edmond later started crying as he said, "I'm just always the fucking nice guy! That's what fucks me up, I'm too fucking nice." Netflix After repeating this over and over, Edmond told KB, "I'm kind of stuck on you having one-night stands." Netflix Throughout their conversation, KB - who is a social worker - remained calm and attempted to resolve the issue with Edmond. Netflix Numerous LIB viewers were outraged at the scene, and took to X to comment on the uncomfortable display of so-called "Nice Guy Syndrome." One person tweeted, "Edmond's behavior in #LoveIsBlindS9 episode 6 was lowkey scary. Using your trauma to manipulate your fiancée to do the do with you is crazy work." Another person wrote, "Edmond talking about 'I'm always the nice guy, I'm too nice' while trying to emotionally manipulate Kalybriah into wanting to hook up is," next to a heap of red flag emojis. Netflix "edmond crying bc he was the only man from the group not having sex and that he deserves it bc 'he's too nice' SORRY but lmfaoooo wtf is wrong with men ???" someone else said."So Edmond thinks he deserves to have sex with KB because 1 - he is too nice, 2 - the other couples had sex and 3 - KB had one night stand before. This is disgusting. The talk he had with the other men at the pool party was gross. #Loveisblind #NiceGuySyndrome," another post read.
Meanwhile, a think piece from Fangirlish called Edmond out for "not respecting Kalybriah's boundaries" and displaying "manipulative" "nice guy" tears. Now, Kalybriah has opened up about the uncomfortable scene during a new interview. View this photo on Instagram Instagram: @kalybriah Speaking with People, KB said, "It was important to stand my ground about that...I went in [practising] abstinence for eight months prior to the show. So it was like, I am in a whole different space than I might've been when I was a college girl ... I lived in Tallahassee. I was where the fun was. So I had a ball." Netflix Explaining that she was super clear about her boundaries with Edmond while they were still in the pods, she shared, "I thought it would've been blindsiding to not have told him that before... because that's what people do when they're engaged. So I'm just like, 'I want to let you know before you propose.' He understood. He said he agreed. Well, I thought he understood." Netflix However, reflecting on how things changed in Mexico, KB said, "We're under the influence from the pool party and you throw in my face, 'Oh, you've had a one-night stand.' Something I told you in confidence, something that might not have even been aired before, you just threw it up into my face as my partner. It's almost like you saying you deserve my body, and that's not the case." Netflix KB also recalled feeling "unsettled" when Edmond "burst into tears" during their argument. "That's what made me feel unsettled. Because I'm like, 'Why are you the one crying right now?' Like, 'What is going on... Did I offend you by not giving you my body?' Come on now. And so it was strange. It was weird," she said. Netflix KB revealed that she ended up sleepi
