Jason Davis / Getty Images To wit: Taylor Swift - ever heard of her? - released a little-known album (I kid, I kid) called The Life of a Showgirl yesterday. One of the songs on the album is "Cancelled!," which some have interpreted as a gesture towards her friendship with Blake Lively. MEGA / GC Images One of the song's lyrics is "Did you girl-boss too close to the sun?," which somewhat closely resembles a comment that Candace made about Blake's ongoing legal dispute with Justin Baldoni on an episode of her podcast Candace. James Devaney / GC Images Somewhat unsuprisingly, Candace is seizing on the potential for attention that this instance - which very well could be a coincidence! - provides. "The song is quoting Candace's [podcast] episode, 'The Taylor Swift Plot Thickens,' which detailed updates in the [Justin] Baldoni/[Blake] Lively saga that involved Taylor," a spokesperson for Candace said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. "We have a small team, and we spent a great deal of time dedicated to that story, so we are celebrating the fact that Taylor Swift acknowledged it with her signature style of allusion." David Levenson / Getty Images "It's particularly amusing that I said the entire legal saga would one day be remembered as the story of someone who 'girl-bossed too close to the sun,' and now, thanks to Taylor's lyrical mastery, that day is today." Robert Kamau / GC Images Oh brother. Anyway, we've asked Taylor's reps for comment - if we hear anything back, we'll let you know.
