Taylor Hill / Getty Images The longtime friends are believed to have had a falling out amid Blake's legal battle with her It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni, whom Blake sued for sexual harassment in December 2024. Justin denied the claims, and in a countersuit, he alleged that Blake had used her friendship with Taylor to try and take control of the script. See our Taylor Swift Discussions "I can't tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right," Taylor wrote. "A forever thank you goes out to my mentors and friends Max and Shellback for helping me paint this self portrait." @taylorswift / Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott / Via instagram.com Some fans also think Taylor may have nodded to their friendship on the album's 10th track, "CANCELLED!" - which praises friends who've weathered public fallout. One lyric describes someone "cloaked in Gucci and in scandal," which many believe is a reference to Blake's role as a brand ambassador of Gucci's Première fragrance. Another lyric mentions "poison thorny flowers," possibly alluding to Blake's It Ends With Us character, Lily, who owned a flower shop.
