Brittany Mahomes is showing subtle support for friend Taylor Swift's new album, The Life of a Showgirl. Eagle-eyed Swifties noticed that Mahomes "liked" Swift's Instagram post on Friday, October 3, introducing fans to her new era. "Tonight all these lives converge here. The mosaics of laughter and cocktails of tears. Where fraternal souls sing identical things," Swift, 35, captioned a series of The Life of a Showgirl promotional images. "And it's beautiful. It's rapturous. It is frightening." She thanked producers and collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. "I can't tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right," Swift added. "A forever thank you goes out to my mentors and friends Max and Shellback for helping me paint this self portrait." Her caption concluded, "If you thought the big show was wild, perhaps you should come and take a look behind the curtain." Is Taylor Swift's 'Cancelled!' About Brittany Mahomes? Theory Explained Mahomes' social media support comes amid fans speculating that Swift wrote one of the new songs about her friend. Since the album dropped early Friday morning, fans have debated whether or not the song "Cancelled!" references the hate Mahomes has faced in the public eye. "You thought that it would be OK at first / The situation could be saved, of course / But they'd already picked out your grave and hearse," the song starts. "Beware the wrath of masked crusaders / Did you girlboss too close to the sun? / Did they catch you having far too much fun?" A reference to the subject of the song being "cooked in Gucci and in scandal," has fans thinking that Swift is referencing Mahomes' outfit at the U.S. Open last year. Al Bello/Getty Images Swift told listeners that the song is about her "own experiences with mass judgement and being at the center of many dramatic scandalous moments" in her Amazon Music commentary of the record. "Having had those experiences, it makes me move through the world a little differently," Swift added. "When other people go through it, you kind of find yourself thinking about how they're probably going to get smarter because of this." She continued, "If they can get through it. If they can be tough enough, they can actually learn some things through this process." Swift noted that she doesn't "naturally cast people aside" because of other people's opinions. "I make my own decisions on people based on how they treat me within my life and their actions," she said. "This is a song about all those themes." Patrick Mahomes Predicts Kansas City Chiefs' Love for New Swift Album Swift has continued to flaunt her friendship with Mahomes since becoming a Kansas City Chiefs fan. (Swift's fiancé, Travis Kelce, and Mahomes' husband, Patrick Mahomes, are both on the team.) The two women have been seen embracing during several NFL games and Swift has even faced backlash for her close-knit relationship with Brittany because of their apparent differing political views. Swift is no stranger to sharing her experiences with being "cancelled" publicly and this song is another example of that. "I don't think there are that many people who can actually understand what it's like to have millions of people hate you very loudly," she shared during a 2019 interview with Vogue. "When you say someone is canceled, it's not a TV show. It's a human being."
