But internet users have long accused her of throwing shade at her ex, with one notable example being the barrage of hate she received for celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles' win at the 2025 Super Bowl.
Of course, Travis plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, who were defeated by the Eagles in the game. That said, several fans are now convinced that Taylor threw a little shade towards Kayla on her new song "Opalite." Opal can be man-made just like diamonds. Travis' birthstone is an opal, so I have always fixated on that, and I've always loved that stone. And I thought it was kind of a cool metaphor that man-made Opal and happiness can also be man-made too," she said as she talked about the song's origins. Seemingly directed towards Travis, Taylor appears to reference a past relationship of his as she sings, "You couldn't understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone / And you were just a pose." Reacting to the lyrics, one person wrote on X, "TAYLOR SWIFT JUST CALLED KAYLA NICOLE TF OUT." Someone else said, "Taylor clocking Kayla Nicole was not on my bingo card." One person resurfaced a video of Kayla's numerous Instagram stories about one of Travis's wins, while another user tweeted, "This makes me think of when trav won the superbowl and kayla just had her phone out the whole time in travis' face."
