Fans will not be able to take their eyes off a captivating Jennifer Lopez in her upcoming musical film, Kiss of a Spider Woman - and Us Weekly has an exclusive look at one of her favorite songs she sang in the movie. The track "Where You Are," accompanied by the official visualizer shared with Us, is an alluring tune with stunning vocals from Lopez, 56, and Tonatiuh, who portray Ingrid Luna/Aurora and Luis Molina/Kendall Nesbitt in the film, respectively. Diego Luna also stars as Valentin Arregui/Armando. If you ask Us, "Where You Are" features the perfect blend of velvety rich vocals, impassioned lyrics and enchanting visuals as Lopez brings old Hollywood glamour back to life through the character of Ingrid. "Where You Are" is only one of the songs featured on the Kiss of the Spider Woman - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which will be released on Friday, October 3. The album, from Lakeshore Records, features songs written by iconic songwriting duo Kander and Ebb and produced by Grammy-nominated music producer and supervisor Matt Sullivan. "Valentín (Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency," per the film's official synopsis. "The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Lopez)." For Lopez, being part of the Bill Condon-directed musical drama was a dream come true. "I just thought to myself, This is what I've been waiting for my whole life," the multitalented singer and actress said while appearing on CBS Sunday Morning on Sunday, September 28. "I grew up on musicals. My mom loved musicals, and so I saw every musical you can think of. She was a fanatic!" She also praised "Where You Are" as a "great and beautiful" track that shares a message of hope. There have been numerous iterations of Kiss of the Spider Woman over the years based on the 1976 novel by Argentine writer Manuel Puig and the Tony Award-winning Broadway production starring Chita Rivera, but this one is different. In her CBS Mornings appearance, Lopez explained that this particular iteration is finally a Latin story told by Latin people. "That was really important to Bill, which I loved and important to me as well as a producer on the film," she said. The Kiss of the Spider Woman - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which also features can't-miss tracks like "I Do Miracles," "Gimme Love" "I Will Dance Alone," "Soon I Feel It" and the titular "Kiss of the Spider Woman," will be available to stream on Friday.
