Cavill took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a carousel of photos of him working out with a trainer in his leg brace. It also appears that he's receiving physical therapy. This time around, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang and Jeremy Irons round out its cast. Michael Finch writes the screenplay. The feature is produced by UA's Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt, in addition to Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski's 87Eleven Entertainment, Josh Davis of Davis Panzer Productions and Louise Rosner. Cavill, who famously played Superman in Zack Snyder's DC films, and has also starred in several action films such as Mission: Impossible Fallout, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, was already training for Highlander for months before the injury occurred. He teased his role in the film at CinemaCon in 2024. Cavill said, "If you think you've seen me do sword work before, you haven't seen anything yet."
