"I'm currently sitting on the couch in my hotel room, with my feet kicked up and watching Charlie Chan movies. I'm quite comfortable," he said in an interview. "The epicenter was 100 miles from here."The former lighting director stated that he hadn't spoken with his eldest daughter and wasn't sure why she made the claim in the first place. _ Samantha Markle took to her private X account to allege Thomas Markle was in danger after a 6.9-magnitude earthquake hit the Philippines. "My father is stuck on the 19th floor of a building in the Philippines after a massive earthquake and he can't walk and he is trapped," she wrote. "I talked to my dad several times a day and was on the phone with him, my brother and our friend. I had texted him right before and was on the phone while they were trying to figure out what to do." _ Meghan Markle was dragged into the drama when Samantha Markle claimed her younger sibling did nothing to help Thomas Markle. "Shame on my disgusting, evil sister forever putting our father in this position. I hope she is cursed," she continued. _ Meghan Markle has a strained relationship with Thomas Markle and Samantha Markle due to them constantly talking about her in interviews. Before the Suits actress' wedding to Prince Harry, the 81-year-old reportedly lied to the couple about working with the media. "We called my dad, and I asked him, and he said, 'No, absolutely not.' I said, 'You know, the Institution has never intervened for anything for us, but they can try to go in and kill this. But if they do this once, we're not going to be able to use that same leverage to protect our kids one day,'" Meghan recalled in an interview. "I said, 'We won't be able to protect our own kids one day,' and I said, 'I just need you to tell me. If you tell me the truth, we can help.' He wasn't able to do that."
