The pair got engaged less than a year ago and were seen out and about together as recently as Aug. 31, so it's fair to say the breakup news shocked fans. Initial reports said the split was "a mutual decision"; however, some insiders have disputed this, suggesting that the breakup was actually caused by their conflicting desires for the future. "There was one reason: She wanted a family and wanted to get married - and he didn't," a source told People, claiming that Nina is totally "devastated." However, Nina just gave an update on her mindset during a brief interaction with a TMZ reporter at LAX on Wednesday, and it sounds like she's very much focused on herself. In response, Nina replied: "I'm excited for the future and the only thing that's guaranteed is change." Shortly after the news of her split from Shaun made headlines, she spent time on a yacht in Sardinia with friends like Keleigh and Miles Teller, Chace Crawford, and, most notably, Zac Efron. However, when asked about the speculation during her TMZ run-in, she shut it down with a laugh.
