One month after giving birth, Erin Bates said she is still recovering from her serious health scare. "Update: To answer many of your questions...
My leg still isn't functioning, but I am learning how to navigate using a walker and wheelchair much better now," Bates, 34, wrote via Instagram on Friday, September 26. "I've been doing physical therapy consistently, and they are hopeful that time will heal ❤️." In her latest social media post, the Bringing Up Bates star posed with her husband, Chad Paine, and their baby boy, Henry Blythe. For the occasion, Bates sported a green dress from Sweet Moments Nursing. "One month of loving you and thanking God for His goodness EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. 🤍," she wrote. "Also celebrating that I made it out of pajamas... but only for two minutes before the pj life called me back. 🤭 It's the little things, friends ❤️." Erin Bates and Husband Chad Paine's Complete Relationship Timeline Bates and Paine's lives were turned upside down after they welcomed their seventh child on August 25. While their son was born healthy and safe, Bates suffered some complications before being diagnosed with septic shock. According to the Mayo Clinic, sepsis is a serious condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection. Sepsis can progress to septic shock, which is a dramatic drop in blood pressure that can damage the lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs. With quick diagnosis and treatment, many people with mild sepsis survive. Erin Bates Courtesy of Erin Bates/Instagram In the past month, Bates has kept fans updated on her progress. "The best medicine! 🫶🏻 I will never get tired of the baby snuggles," she wrote via Instagram. "Thankful for new day and a new pair of pajamas 😚 #healingjourney #newborn #family #thankful #Love." Throughout the process, both Bates and Paine, 38, have expressed gratitude for all the friends and family who have offered encouragement, help or support during a difficult time. How Do the Duggars Know the Bates? Inside the Famous Families' Connection "We have been completely overwhelmed by the love and support of family and friends during this difficult season," the couple wrote via Instagram on September 12. "From watching the kids and taking them on adventures, to helping with baby Henry and lifting Erin up with encouragement - you have carried us in ways we can't even put into words. We don't know how to say thank you enough, but we are truly, deeply grateful ❤️." One of those supporters is close friend Jinger Duggar. While appearing on the September 17 episode of "The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast," Duggar, 31, offered a hopeful update to listeners. "I think that it'll be a long road, but as we follow along with all their posts, it's encouraging to see any little glimmer of hope," she said. "I think that they're holding onto hope now as she's starting her road to recovery, and so that's just an absolute miracle and encouraging to see."
