Shay Wright, the widow of late influencer Tanner Martin, is offering her support to Emilie Kiser after the death of her 3-year-old son, Trigg. When Kiser, 26, returned to social media following Trigg's fatal drowning, Wright was among the social media personalities who offered condolences. "As a recent widow and mom of a 4-month-old, I'm here to witness whatever you want to share and hold space for you," Wright wrote via Instagram comment on Wednesday, September 24. Wright married Martin shortly before he was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2020. Martin died in June at the age of 30, just weeks after their daughter was born. It is truly an opposites-attract situation, where Tanner is the fun-loving guy [who's] a little forgetful, and Shay is the list and the organized and the 'we're going to be on time' part of the [partnership]," Martin's dad, Thomas, said during a funeral service the next month. "Shay has just been a wonderful companion. They got two years before he was diagnosed, and then they had five years with doctors' visits and the struggle and the fight." Thomas continued, "There were still a lot of good times in those five years, but there were still a lot of other times, too. It sometimes doesn't seem fair that I've had 30 Father's Days, and Tanner had one. I don't know if fairness really plays into it." As for Kiser, Us Weekly confirmed in May that her eldest son died after drowning in their family's backyard pool. Emilie and her husband, Brady Kiser, took social media hiatuses following Trigg's death. (Emilie and Brady also share son Teddy, who was born in March.) It's been a minute since I've obviously come on here," she said in a social media video posted on Saturday, September 20. "Not gonna lie, I'm really nervous right now. I don't really know if there's any right way to start this video, but I'm going to do my best." Emilie added, "I have missed getting to chat with you guys everyday. I really do love this community we have here, and I hope that in coming back and sharing what I choose to, I can reconnect with you guys and, hopefully, help anyone going through a similar situation. I have been offline for the last little bit. I'm just doing my best every day to figure this out, figure my life out. I'm just taking it day by day. I'm going to do the same with my content." "I'm not going to act like things are fine and dandy, and I don't want it to come off that way with me coming back and making content again," she said. "[Making videos again] is really therapeutic for me. I miss talking to you guys, but I don't know what that's going to fully look like. I don't know how much I'm willing to share, especially about my grief journey. I'm trying to process everything, as best as I can, day by day."
