Jimmy did not hold back in his monologue, addressing his comments on Charlie Kirk, the outpouring of support he's received from both sides of the aisle, and Trump's previous remarks about his ratings. On CNN, Chief Data Analyst Harry Enten dove into some statistics. He shared that videos from Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s YouTube channel have had a median of 240,000 views over the past six months. But last night's monologue had 6.7 million views (and as of this writing, that number is now up to 12.9 million). @ForecasterEnten / CNN / Via x.com Harry also mentioned that this is "the largest video in at least six months," and said, "If Donald Trump's idea was to give Jimmy Kimmel more press and more viewership, he absolutely did so â€" of course, I don't think that is what Donald Trump intended to do." In addition, Harry said there were "record high Google searches last night for 'what time is Jimmy Kimmel on'" and noted that "you wouldn't have to check what time Jimmy Kimmel is on if you were a regular viewer." @ForecasterEnten / CNN / Via x.com Harry believes he was "potentially pulling in a lot of viewers who normally didn't watch," as searches were up over 10,000%. BuzzFeed TrendingHot TopicLet's chat about all things PoliticsSee our Politics Discussions Harry also mentioned that Google searches for "boycotting Disney" and "cancel Disney+" were down 75% from last week. @ForecasterEnten / CNN / Via x.com Harry concluded, "The bottom line is this was great for Jimmy Kimmel in terms of what we see so far on YouTube. It's probably gonna translate to the ratings." @ForecasterEnten / CNN / Via x.com "And also, Jimmy Kimmel's return is good for Disney, because all of a sudden people aren't so interested in boycotting them or canceling their Disney+ subscription. So it ends up being pretty decent for Disney's bottom line bringing Jimmy Kimmel back to the stage." The ABC live broadcast numbers haven't been released yet, but it's possible that they could be affected by ABC affiliates Sinclair and Nexstar, who have opted to continue preempting the show. The New York Times reported that "about a quarter of the ABC stations in the United States [were not] airing it." NurPhoto / NurPhoto via Getty Images Some folks whose local stations were blacked out appeared to have watched the monologue on YouTube instead. "From Portland Oregon. Blacked out by Sinclair but supporting you!" said one person. @nancymicheals5179 / Via youtube.com "tonight my local ABC station in East Tennessee, owned by Nexstar, is not showing Jimmy Kimmel Live," said another. @MaryAClark1 / Via youtube.com "We live in southern Vermont, and only just found out minutes before eleven thirty on our local news that they will not be airing your show! ... Apparently, they are owned my Nexstar." @jld6068 / Via youtube.com There were also a number of folks in the YouTube comments chiming in from around the world, which may have boosted the numbers on that platform as well. "Out here in rural northern Germany... I was desperately waiting for this show to air on youtube." @ulrikedrager7596 / Via youtube.com "Watching from Ukraine from the shelter. Jimmy, you are an international star." @imhoperogers / Via youtube.com And finally, "I always watch your monologue first thing in the morning here in Sweden. ... Great to have you back!" @JeenGirl / Via youtube.com Did you watch Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night? Let us know in the comments.
