Watch: 'The Voice' Makes One Major Rule Change to Auditions for Season 28Wedding bells are ringing on The Voice. Season 28 contestant Jacob Ryan Gustafson stunned coaches Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé and Niall Horan during the NBC singing competition series' Sept. 23-but not because of his vocal abilities. Prior to taking the stage for his Blind Audition, the Yucaipa, Calif., firefighter sweetly dedicated his performance to longtime girlfriend Jenn. "I'm gonna be singing 'Spin You Around' by Morgan Wallen," Jacob explained. "I hear this song, and I think of Jenn and spinning around all night dancing. That's what I want to do with her for the rest of my life." The 35-year-old then belted out a cover of the country ballad, but failed to persuade any of the four coaches to turn their red swivel chairs, meaning Jacob did not make it through to the next round of competition. But instead of moping over the letdown, Jacob turned his five minutes in the spotlight into a life-changing moment. "I just want to say thank you for this opportunity," he told the coaches, adding, "Can I bring someone up? She is the reason why I am here."photosThe Voice's Most Memorable ContestantsAfter Jenn joined him on stage, Jacob told his love, "This life is beautiful life and I'm so blessed. Even right now, if I could change anything, the only thing I'd change is your last name." With that, Jacob got down on one knee and asked her, "Will you marry me?" as the audience members and coaches erupted with cheers and applause. The coaches then rushed the stage to congratulate the bride and groom to-be-who are each parents of three from previous relationships-with Michael joking, "OK, so you won The Voice!" What a beautiful moment, Yeah, no one turned, but the person that he wanted most said 'yes.'" Prior to popping the question, Jenn shared insight into their special bond in a pre-recorded video package. "I love his career path that he's gone down, but the unknown of is he gonna come home safe every night is probably the hardest thing," she noted of his work as a firefighter. "Just being able to have something that his kids can look up to and be proud of but not that he has to put his life on the line every single day would probably be the most amazing part of this."NBCUniversalAnd Jacob couldn't be more grateful for Jenn's support. "It took me 20 years to get the confidence to do something like this," he admitted. "I really wanna show Jenn that her belief in me has made me believe in myself."
