Cardi B hit back at trolls wondering why she hasn't finalized her divorce from Offset - and claimed her ex is holding up the process. "Yes, I'm having a baby with somebody else. So what? That happens. It's life," the rapper, 32, said in an X Spaces chat on Monday, September 22. "Let me tell you something, I did things the correct way the first time. I fell in love. I got two rings on my finger. I lasted seven years. ... Stop saying, 'Oh, but you're still married.' No, I'm legally separated." Cardi filed for divorce from Offset, 33, in July 2024, but she alleged that he's the reason they haven't gotten closer to making their split final. "The only reason why I'm still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes," she claimed. "Y'all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else's taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I'm fighting for that, I'm gonna fight for that. This is not no love s***." Cardi B and Offset's Relationship Timeline She continued, "I'm not gonna live my life because on a contract I'm practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don't give them millions of dollars to get out of it. So, that's what I'm going through in life. ... Y'all want me to remarry and stuff to have another baby and stuff like that. I'm doing things how what makes me happy. I did it the right way the first time." Cardi recently announced that she is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, to whom she was first linked in late 2024. The Grammy winner already shares daughters Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 12 months, and son Wave, 4, with Offset. Earlier this month, Cardi reacted to the news that Diggs, 31, is facing a paternity suit from a woman who claims he fathered her 5-month-old daughter. "That's your baby daddy, bitch? That's my baby daddy too," Cardi said in an Instagram Live video. "Well, what now? I don't f***ing know. We'll figure it out, bitch." Cardi B Claims Ex Offset Threatened Murder-Suicide: 'He Harasses Me' Both Cardi and Offset addressed their split on their recent albums, with Cardi expressing her regret over how things ended on the Am I the Drama? track "Man of Your Word." When asked about the song during an interview on CBS Mornings last week, Cardi replied, "I just wish he was a better person. But it is what it is. Be a better person for your kids." Offset, meanwhile, rapped about the divorce on "Move On" from his latest album, Kiari, which dropped last month. "It's about moving on, like, peacefully," he told the Associated Press of the song. "That's what the message is supposed to be, moving on peacefully."
