Tarek El Moussa is speaking out about his Las Vegas battery case for the first time, one month after it was dismissed. "It was just a really unfortunate incident," Tarek, 44, told Entertainment Tonight in an interview released on Tuesday, September 16. "I was put in a really weird situation where I had to defend my dad." He added, "Luckily, everything is OK and I think everything is gone now and done now." His wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, chimed in, confirming that everything has been "cleared up" following the incident. "Everyone's OK," Tarek concluded. "I didn't get in trouble with the law by any means and everything's good." Tarek allegedly "charged" at a man and "shoved him" during the altercation, according to the police report obtained by Us at the time. They "both took a fighting stance," per the report, when Tarek allegedly "struck the man with his knee and caused him to fall to the floor." Tarek has continued to claim that he was defending his father, which ultimately caused the altercation. The Flip Off star claimed that the man "hit his dad on the back with his hand," which is when Tarek got involved. Tarek received a citation for battery following the altercation. Us confirmed last month that a judge dismissed the misdemeanor battery charge on August 5. Tarek completed "impulse control counseling" and stayed "out of trouble," court documents obtained by Us read. Heather Rae El Moussa Says Christina Haack Friendship Is 'Getting There' Both Tarek and Heather had stayed silent about the incident until Tuesday's interview. Their The Flip Off costar and Tarek's ex-wife, Christina Haack, did however poke fun at the altercation in a social media post at the time. (Tarek and Christina got married in 2009. They announced their separation in December 2016 and their divorce was finalized in January 2018. The couple shares two kids, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9. He is also the father to son Tristan, 2, with Heather.) "Taylor we are so proud of you and so excited for you to head into the next stage of your life. Our beautiful, smart, incredible, bright light we all love and adore you," Christina wrote, referring to their teenage daughter.
