Icon And Image / Getty Images For reference, a "rider" is a list of requirements or conditions that a star expects in addition to their appearance fee when booked as a guest on shows or when performing on tour. They first came to prominence in 1982, after rock band Van Halen asked that every stop on their tour provide them with a bowl of M&M's that had the brown ones picked out, with the band later admitting that they'd added this detail to work out which venues had actually read their rider in full.
Other stars have been honest about their wild requests, too, including Joe Jonas, who once confessed to asking for "12 puppies," while others are just unverified reports, like the time Eminem supposedly wanted an entire koi pond. And with everything from "no members of staff called Justin" to "an entire dressing room just to charge a single phone" being alleged as rider requests in recent years, it's fair to say that the stars of Boy Meets World are being seriously reserved with their list of demands, which they revealed on Thursday. Tommaso Boddi / Getty Images Speaking on Thursday's episode of Pod Meets World, Danielle - who shot to fame at 12 years old when she was cast as Topanga in Boy Meets World - explained: "For anybody who doesn't know, we have something called a rider." Abc Photo Archives / Getty Images "Any bands that go on tour, comedy acts, or whoever, when you go on tour, the venues ask you: 'Is there anything we can have here for you to help make your stay more comfortable?'" she went on. "Our rider consists of: Sparkling flavored water, water, coffee, chocolate peanut butter cups, a fruit platter, a vegetable platter, and gummy bears." Greg Doherty / Getty Images "Most memorable are not the things that happen on stage, they're always the things that happen on our way to the shows, on our way back to the shows, in the back stage," she began. "Rider with the stinky broccoli..."At this point, Rider interjected to question why he was being named and shamed, exclaiming: "Wait, hold on, why is it... Just because I opened it... It's not like I brought the broccoli! I just opened the thing. 'Rider's stinky broccoli,' OK, hold on, I have not been able to eat broccoli since. Literally, this has ruined broccoli for me for the rest of my life." Danielle then shared the full story with listeners, explaining: "We always eat fruit and veggies before we go out because we don't eat dinner before the show, we don't like to have a full stomach, we don't end up eating dinner until about 9:30 or so, when the show is over, so we always just snack on some fruit and veggies," she began. Pod Meets World / Via instagram.com She, Rider, and Will then recalled that this particular incident happened before their first show in Austin, Texas, last January, with Danielle detailing between laughter: "Rider goes to open the broccoli... The room we're sitting in is very narrow and long, not very big. Rider opens the broccoli and goes: 'Oh god, this smells awful!'""Will and I, we look at him, like, shocked, like: 'Wow, OK,' we're sitting a little farther away from him," she continues. "And then all of a sudden, it's like a wave of just the worst smell. It's like an outhouse that's never been cleaned, and we're like: 'Oh god, that's so gross, I'm gonna gag, this is awful!'" The trio then revealed that their tour manager and people from upstairs ended up racing to the room to see what was going on, and at one point, the broccoli got knocked from the counter and spread all over the room. After clearing it up and putting the veg in a garbage bag, the smell was still too strong, and they ended up ha
