If there's one guest Kyle MacLachlan hopes to have on his "What Are We Even Doing?" podcast, it's Timothée Chalamet. "Timothée would be fun to have on. We've met and spoken. We worked together on a little photo shoot we did for W Magazine. He's a very interesting person," MacLachlan, 66, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Wednesday, September 16, premiere of FX's The Lowdown of the 29-year-old Dune actor. "He's quite reserved, but I'm curious because he's had a very specific journey and he's done a variety of different things." He added, "It'd be fun to have that discussion with him and share stories. And then we can always talk about riding sandworms together." MacLachlan started his podcast this month to discuss the entertainment industry from the lens of millennial and Gen Z stars. Kylie Jenner 'Loves Being on the Sidelines' to Cheer on Timothee Chalamet "I'm enjoying it. The sky is the limit in a weird way, and why not go out and explore this? I have a genuine curiosity, and I've got great help," he told Us. "I couldn't have done it by myself. [My team is] incredibly important to me." MacLachlan's podcast debut featured an interview with Kaia Gerber, who revealed that she never thought mom Cindy Crawford was cool. "It's like my son. He'd be like, 'No,'" he quipped, referring to 17-year-old son Callum, whom he shares with wife Desiree Gruber. "But then as they start to learn more, they figure it out and it's like, 'Oh, wow. Actually, in that moment, they accomplished something really extraordinary.' Cindy was amazing, and I know her daughter knows that, but at the same time, there is that period of time where they have to come to that." John Nacion/Variety via Getty Images According to MacLachlan, Gerber, 24, "was a wonderful guest" on the show. "[She was] very up for anything [and] incredibly well-read. Her school journey was particularly interesting to me because she didn't go to traditional school," he said. "I was like, 'Oh, there are other ways to do it.' So, it was really fun." Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet's Relationship Timeline MacLachlan further explained his decision to only interview young actors on his podcast. "This is the generation that I know the least about. So for me, it was a journey of discovery," he explained. "I talked to them about their process, what they're going through, what's important - and then I get to share a little bit of my perspective from the ripe old age of 66. That was really the goal: learning about each other in a fun, silly way, but having a genuine conversation about how they're doing, what their creative inspirations are [and] how they use social [media]."
