Kelly and Matthew Stafford both have their own reasons for not always rocking their respective wedding rings. The conversation was sparked on Kelly's "The Morning After" podcast on Thursday, September 18, when Kelly asked Matthew, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, about a new trend among married players in the NFL. "You've noticed that men have started to wear rubber rings during games," Kelly, 36, said. "Why haven't you?" After a brief moment of awkward silence, Kelly laughed and said, "I'm kidding, I'm totally kidding. I'm putting you on the spot. I respect the fact that you don't have to, because I'm one to talk." Kelly Stafford's Most Honest Quotes About the Challenges of Motherhood "Sometimes my ring stays upstairs," Kelly explained. "We have kids. It's a lot just keeping track of everything." After meeting at the University of Georgia, Kelly and Matthew, 37, got married in April 2015 and share four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5. Over the course of their decade-long marriage, Matthew has only had one wedding ring mishap. "I will give you credit; you've only lost that ring once," Kelly said. Matthew recalled he "misplaced" the ring in one of Kelly's purses, which was later found "in a jewelry bag," according to Kelly. "That's really impressive," Kelly told him. Courtesy of Kelly Stafford/Instagram Kelly patted herself on the back as well, claiming that she was "yet to lose one piece of jewelry." "That is not true," Matthew responded. The quarterback called out his wife for losing "the three Cartier bracelets I got you." Matthew theorized the bracelets were still at "the mall in Detroit," where the couple lived when Matthew played for the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2020. Kelly remembered she "was getting those screws tightened, and I never picked them up or something." Matthew said the bracelets had special "locks" on them - which were ultimately the problem. "The locks, that's why I was getting them fixed," Kelly explained. "The screws to the locks broke and they kept on falling off!" Kelly added, "Someone has them. They're engraved on the inside with our girls' names because those were my push presents. God, I love a push present." Matthew responded, "Not enough to keep track of it." Kelly Stafford Responds to Rumor Husband Matthew Stafford Is Dead Earlier this year, Kelly got candid about how "f***ing hard" those early days of marriage can be. "Anyone who tells you differently is f***ing lying through their teeth," Kelly said on her podcast April 3. Prior to walking down the aisle, Kelly said, "You put yourself first all the time." "Now all of a sudden, you're putting someone else first," she explained. "There's kids involved. It just becomes tougher and tougher with the more things thrown your way."
