Bonnie Schiffman Photography / Getty Images After that, Winona's career went from strength to strength, and the star appeared in countless other popular films, including Heathers, Edward Scissorhands, Mermaids, and Little Women throughout her late teens and early 20s. Rolf Konow / Getty Images Winona is now 53 years old, and best known for playing mom Joyce Byers in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, where she is the oldest core cast member. As I'm sure you know, Stranger Things has been a launchpad for a whole new generation of young stars who have grown up on our screens throughout the series. Jean Baptiste Lacroix / Getty Images And in a new interview with Elle, Winona reflected on the fact that she has gone from being the youngest actor on set to the oldest - and even revealed that directors have told her to get anti-aging treatments to improve her appearance. Roy Rochlin / Getty Images "I always knew I looked young, but I also knew that when I started aging, it was gonna happen first," she told the publication. Winona is then said to have pointed to her forehead before adding: "I don't mind it, but what's weird is when you're surrounded by young women getting weird shit done." Karwai Tang / Getty Images Clarifying that she was referring to buccal fat removal, which is when fat is removed from the face to create a more sculpted look, Winona added: "I thought they were kidding. I want to say, like: 'In 10 years, you're gonna want that back!'" Ron Galella, Ltd. / Getty Images The star went on to reference female directors who have recommended Botox to her - even if it comes at the cost of her acting performance. "They'll say: 'Just relax your forehead. Relax,'" she shared. "I'm trying to be a great actor, and they're saying that over and over. It's nice that people are talking about how it's OK to age, but there's still enormous pressure. Every role I get is for a mother, you know? My career has definitely shifted."
