In the interview, Nicole said: "I hate how you call her Dern," to which Reese replied: "You know why I call her Dern? [It's] because my name is Laura, and her name is Laura, and it's confusing to me.""My real name is Laura Jeanne, and it's confusing to me," she continued. "So that's why I call her Dern, because we both can't be Laura." And while this interview was all over social media just over a year ago, it seems like it didn't reach her close friend Jennifer Aniston's algorithm, with Jen being left floored when she learned Reese's real name earlier this week - after 25 years of friendship. Gilbert Flores / Getty Images In an interview with Lad Bible, Jen was asked to guess Reese's middle name, and she incorrectly chose "Jane" from the multiple-choice options. When Reese corrected her and said that it is actually Jeanne, Jen couldn't hide her shock, but was even more stunned when Reese continued: "I'm Laura Jeanne." Lad Bible / Via youtube.com Both women then burst into laughter as Jen went on: "Who the hell's Laura?? Wait, Laura Jeanne... I'm not calling you that from now on... Where'd Reese come from?" Lad Bible / Via youtube.com Reese then explained that Reese is another of her middle names, and when Jen asked why she chose Reese as her acting name, she said that people had just always called her Reese. Reese then asked Jennifer what her middle name is, and was surprised to learn that it is Joanna. She responded: "I was today years old!" Reese reiterated, before joking that she is going to call her "JJ" from now on.
Needless to say, many found Jen's total ignorance in this clip low-key endearing, with one popular X response reading: "I'm obsessed with the fact that Jennifer Aniston always seems to have not used the Internet in at least 20 years. It's why she's always so calm in spirit."Somebody else wrote: "These interview clips just show how painfully offline Jennifer is."While another added: "I appreciate that Jen is so offline that she doesn't know the phrase 'I was today years old.'" For reference, Jen and Reese have been friends since 2000, when Reese guest-starred on Friends as Jen's onscreen sister.
