The Atlanta-born singer has three albums under belt, and she's known for her lo-fi, soft rock sound. Her third record, 2024's Charm, earned the artist her first Grammy nomination for best alternative album. Clairo first hit viral status in 2017 with her song "Pretty Girl." She previously opened for Dua Lipa in 2018 and later served as the opening act for Boygenius in 2023. She was previously signed to Fader and Republic Records, and Charm was self-released. "From our first meeting, they immediately understood my vision, and it feels good to know I can continue to be as expressive and free with my ideas with a great new partner by my side." Clairo's kept busy on the festival circuit this year, playing at several marquee festivals including Governors Ball, Lollapalooza and Coachella. For the latter fest back in April, she was introduced by Bernie Sanders. The singer's latest music video, "Terrapin," which dropped in February, was notably directed by Ayo Edebiri. "Clairo represents the rare kind of artist who reshapes the music landscape simply by being true to herself," said Elliot Grainge, chairman and CEO of Atlantic Music Group. "She's not just one of the most important songwriters of her era, she's an artist whose work and aesthetic is truly unique. As a leading voice in music today, we are honored that she has chosen the Atlantic family to be part of her next chapter." On the experience of making her Grammy-nominated album Charm, Clairo told Seventeen she "feel[s] like I've arrived at a major turning point" in her career. "I didn't know what confidence felt like until the alchemy of getting older and Charm happened to me," she added. "I'm wiser and a little more hip to what makes me me. All the exploration I'd done until then was necessary, and it's wild that it's all out there for anyone to see."
