Camp Rock is returning to the big screen for a third movie, nearly two decades after the first film aired on Disney Channel. After whispers surfaced in summer 2025 that the hit franchise may be making a comeback, Joe Jonas accidentally confirmed another movie was in the works during an August 2025 appearance on Hot Ones alongside his brothers and bandmates Nick and Kevin Jonas. Joe was asked to read his last iPhone Notes app entry, which gave away the news. "Read Camp Rock 3," Joe said out loud while Nick looked shocked at the camera and Kevin laughed nervously. After realizing what he had done, Joe added, "Sorry, Disney." One month later, Disney announced that Camp Rock 3 was greenlit and that the Jonas Brothers would be reprising their roles as the Gray brothers in the band Connect 3. The trio are also listed as executive producers alongside former costar Demi Lovato. "'Camp Rock' is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day," said Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said in a September 2025 press release. "Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can't wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation." The first Camp Rock follows Mitchie Torres (Lovato), a shy teen who dreamed of making it big as a singer. After her mom scores a catering gig at the titular musical camp, Mitchie gets her shot only to find herself bumping heads with pop star Shane Gray (Joe), who begrudgingly agrees to help out at the camp to fix his spoiled image. But after the two spark a connection through music, they team up to compete in the camp's end of summer contest, finding love along the way. A sequel of the film was released two years later in 2010 and reunited Mitchie, Shane and their friends in hopes of defeating a rival music camp across the lake that put Camp Rock in jeopardy of shutting down. Camp Rock 3 will pick up 15 years later and center on the still-successful Connect 3. After they lose their opening act for their reunion tour, the band returns to Camp Rock to discover a new artist who can open for them, per the film's official synopsis. The new cast includes Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts, Ava Jean and Sherry Cola. Production began in Vancouver in September 2025.
