Olivia Colman admits it's not easy filming intimate scenes as a married woman. "I don't like it. I don't like it," The Favourite actress, 51, said during the Tuesday, September 16, episode of Amy Poehler's "Good Hang" podcast, admitting that she is "most afraid" of having to "show any skin" or "pretending to have sex with someone" onscreen. "I feel like I'm being unfaithful," she added, referring to her relationship with her husband, Ed Sinclair. The pair have been married since 2001. Colman noted that even when the crew says she "can wear [her] jeans" and put "a cushion" between her and her scene partner, she still feels uncomfortable. "I don't want to do that with someone I don't know," she explained. '9 1/2 Weeks' Star Kim Basinger 'Can't Imagine' Using an Intimacy Coordinator After Poehler agreed and applauded the "people that are good" at doing intimate scenes, Colman added that she is thankful for the introduction of intimacy coordinators. (According to SAG AFTRA, an intimacy coordinator acts as an advocate and a movement coach between actors and production in regards to nudity and simulated sex or other intimate scenes.) "[Intimacy coordinator] Ita O'Brien told me when I was about to orgasm ... imagine the sun is hitting your face," she recalled. There wasn't anyone particularly fanciful there," Colman said on Tuesday. "And then I walked in and I saw his left-hand profile. And at the time he was smoking a Ziggy, his feet were crossed, and he's got this lovely bump in his nose. And I saw his side profile and I just went, 'Oh, God, I'm going to marry him.'" The couple tied the knot in 2001 before welcoming son Finn, son Hall and a daughter (whose name has yet to be revealed) in 2005, 2007 and 2015, respectively. "It's a bit like he pissed on me," Colman joked to Poehler, adding that it was her "choice" to get a tattoo. "I couldn't have done any of it without Ed going, 'Do it, we'll be OK,'" she told British Vogue in a 2023 interview of how supportive her husband has been of her career. Despite occasionally gushing about her husband in interviews, Colman has managed to keep her relationship and family life largely out of the spotlight by moving to the English countryside. Celeb Spouses Who Are Uncomfortable With Their Partners' Romantic Scenes "We've moved to the countryside and it's lovely. It's where I'm from. We never fell out of love with London," she told British Vogue in 2023, noting that the paparazzi surrounding her family made living in London "difficult" and "scared" her. "At one point, there were two cars chasing us and I was having a sort of meltdown, terrified," she added. "I was crying and [my kids] were laughing."
