Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli were the original Dancing With the Stars' judges - but they aren't the only stars who've weighed in on the contestants' performances. The show debuted in 2005 and while the trio remained the centerpiece of the judging panel for decades, various celebrities have appeared in a guest capacity. Julianne Hough made DWTS history in 2014 when she became the first star to permanently join the judging panel bringing the total from three scorecards to four. Hough stepped away from the role in September 2017 after having been a dancer on the series and judge for many years. In 2023, Hough returned to the DWTS family to cohost alongside Alfonso Ribeiro. Julianne's brother, Derek Hough, joined the panel in 2020 to fill in for Goodman in 2020 and following Goodman's death in 2023, Derek became a permanent fixture.
