Watch: Why Josh Duhamel Decided to Leave HollywoodJosh Duhamel doesn't subscribe to method acting. Indeed, while his London Calling character spends much of the upcoming film denying his declining vision and refusing to get glasses, Josh revealed that he has already undergone a procedure to improve his own vision. "I've already had cataract surgery," Josh exclusively told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi at the Sept. 15 London Calling premiere. "I'm too young for that. But my vision is perfect now, perfect 20/20 vision." In the film, which premieres in theaters Sept. 19, the Ransom Canyon star steps into the shoes of a hit man, Tommy Ward, who is tasked with "manning" up his employer's son Julian (Jeremy Ray Taylor) in exchange for safe passage across the pond to reconnect with his own son. "It's one of those popcorn movies about a hit man who's over the hill," he explained of the Allan Ungar-directed film. "He doesn't quite see or shoot like he used to, shoots the wrong person, ends up having to leave for Los Angeles from London, and the guy he works for-in exchange for me going back to London-makes me take his son out on a hit, and it goes horrible."photosFergie and Josh Duhamel's Family Photos With Son Axl Jack DuhamelBut when it came to his costar, Josh expressed in the interview-airing Sept. 16 at 11 p.m.-that he had nothing but admiration for Jeremy. "He's such a talent," he gushed of the 22-year-old. "He's a power lifter and he really takes good care of himself. We're like, 'Dude, you have to be soft and cuddly for this movie.' And he totally bought in." After all, being young on set had its advantages. "He's a great athlete," Josh, 52, continued. "He's a surprisingly adept at action-way better than I was. I pulled a groin just trying to sprint."Michael Buckner/Variety via Getty ImagesAnd perhaps that is why the Safe Haven actor-who shares son Axl, 12, with ex-wife Fergie, as well as son Shepherd, 20 months, with wife Audra Mari-opted for a quieter life nearly two decades ago when he decided to build a house in Minnesota. "You know, 16, 17 years ago, when I built this place, it was weirdly me almost reliving my youth, in a way," Josh explained of his self-proclaimed doomsday cabin. "Because I grew up out in the woods in North Dakota, and for me to now be able to pass that on to my kids out there is great." Acknowledging that Los Angeles is still "fantastic," he went on to emphasize that "it's also nice to get them out in the woods and get dirty and learn a few things that I learned growing up."
