Nashville star Hayden Panettiere is "absolutely" open to filming a reboot - and that's music to the ears of the show's fans! Panettiere, 36, starred as Juliette Barnes in the series, which aired from October 2012 to May 2016 on ABC and from December 2016 to July 2018 on CMT. All six seasons of the show have been picked up by Netflix, which means a brand-new audience is about to discover it - and Panettiere couldn't be happier. While the actress admits she is "not sure what [she] would want [a reboot] to look like," she told Glamour in an interview published Monday, September 15, that the idea is exciting. She continued: "I would have to sit with that question for a second, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've been on shows where the first season was amazing and then the second season really wasn't up to snuff. I feel like Nashville stayed very steady throughout the entire six years, and the storylines just continued to get juicier and juicier. They never ran out of material." "I played a character that had gone through very similar things to what I've gone through in my life. In my life, there's never a dull moment," she continued. "So in Juliet's life, I expect there to never be a dull moment either. I think it'd be really fun to be able to get back into the music too. I mean, it was a dream job in that way. I got to do more than acting. I got to explore my love for music and specifically country music. So yeah, fingers crossed. Where there's a will, there's a way. The Heroes actress added that she's "excited" for a new group of fans to discover the show - and for its longtime supporters to be able to revisit the series. There's certain people that definitely missed the cutoff and were a little bit too young when it first started, but it's a really fun show with amazing human stories. So I am hoping that it's really successful and that even people who were fans before get to come back and rewatch it. I would even like to rewatch it." Panettiere took an extended break from acting after she finished filming Nashville, something she said was harder than expected. "I didn't plan on taking the amount of time off that I did," the actress explained. "I took the time off that I felt I needed. The longer you stay away from something, it becomes a much bigger deal when you do decide to step back into it. I was very nervous stepping back into it. I was nervous that I had lost my mojo, if you will, and that I wouldn't be able to do things like memorize lines as quickly as I did before," she also said. "It's a muscle, just like anything else, and I spent years strengthening it. I was surprised to find out how quickly that muscle atrophied when I wasn't using it." Hayden Panettiere Reflects on Her 'Needed' 4-Year Acting Break Panettiere will next star in the psychological thriller Sleepwalker as Sarah, a grieving mother who is coping with the tragic loss of her daughter. The movie doesn't have a confirmed release date yet.
