Aaron Phypers' work in the frequency medicine industry was a hot topic during his estranged wife Denise Richards' time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Prior to the couple splitting in 2025 amid domestic violence and harassment allegations, the Denise Richards & Her Wild Things star spoke on the RHOBH After Show about Phypers specializing in "holistic" medical procedures at his Malibu clinic but insisted that he wasn't involved in "cuckoo weird s***." "[Frequency medicine] has, like, been around for hundreds of years, holistic medicine, all over the world. It's different for every person," she explained in 2019. Phypers has also dabbled in acting, including guest starring with Richards in two episodes of daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful in 2019. Frequency Medicine According to the Cleveland Clinic, frequency medicine is "one of several therapies that use low-level electrical current to treat musculoskeletal injuries and pain." The clinic says that this form of treatment can "relieve acute and chronic pain and may aid tissue healing" by targeting pressure spots with "specific frequencies of current." While frequency medicine can be helpful in alleviating muscle and nerve pain, it is not recommended for anyone who is pregnant, has a seizure condition or has a pacemaker because of its use of electrical currents. What Aaron Phypers Has Said At one time, Phypers operated a Malibu wellness clinic that specialized in frequency medicine. He shocked Richards' RHOBH castmates in an April 2020 episode by claiming that everything they were "taught about how disease process and stuff works is not true." "I have to be careful," he said after a pause. "[At the] age of 12, I was living next to the largest nuclear facility in North America. I watched everybody die of cancer. I couldn't understand why we could split an atom with sound and cause a nuclear explosion. If you look at an atom, there's lots of space, right? Electron, proton, neutron, whatever. There's a lot of space, space, it's empty space, right? 99.9 percent is space, but it's oscillating at a frequency that appears to be real in our reality. Does that make sense?" Phypers then warned everyone at the dinner table that there was "cancer in every one of you right now," before adding: "If we end up off of Mulholland [Drive], you know why." As the mood grew more tense at the cast dinner party, Richards ultimately convinced her husband to drop the subject. "We're not talking about this anymore. It's for our safety. Stop," she insisted. It's safe to say that Phypers' explanation of his work wasn't convincing for the RHOBH crew, as Lisa Rinna admitted she was struggling to "wrap [her] brain around what Aaron is saying." "This party for me started awkward and then it got bizarre and then it got more bizarre. Cuckoo," Garcelle Beauvais joked. Denise Richards' Treatment Richards confirmed on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show in 2019 that she actually met Phypers at his clinic while she was undergoing "preventative DNA repair." Pending Lawsuit Us Weekly reported in January 2025 that Phypers had been sued in November 2024 by the husband of a former client who accused him of violating a verbal agreement about their treatment plan. Elina Katsioula-Beall's husband, Rupert Perry, claimed that Phypers had promised "a stem cell treatment for her cancer" offered at his clinic would "cure or at least ameliorate [her] condition." "[He] claimed that the treatment had a 98 percent success rate and he was so confident in it that, if it did not work, he would refund to Ms. Katsioula-Beall and Mr. Perry 50 percent of the money they [paid] to him for the treatment," Perry wrote in his lawsuit. Perry claimed that his wife, who died in May 2024, paid Phypers $126,000 for the treatment but later requested $63,000 back when she was informed that her tumors had grown by 25 percent.
