Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze is hosting tonight's show, which is celebrating the best of the 2024-25 television season.

The nominees were announced in July, and Apple TV+'s Severance leads the pack with a total of 27 Emmy nominations. HBO Max's The Penguin follows closely behind with 24 total nominations, and tied for third most nods are The White Lotus and The Studio, each with a total of 23 nominations. As an Emmy Awards newcomer, The Studio made history with the most-nominated freshman comedy, surpassing Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso. Also new to the Emmy Awards scene is The Pitt, which made an impression with 13 Emmy nominations for its first year.

Meanwhile, Netflix has 120 nods, and Apple TV+ has earned 81 nominations, a bulk of them being for Severance and The Studio.

Bargatze's clever plan to keep tonight's acceptance speeches shortHost Nate Bargatze is following through on his promise to donate $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of America after tonight's show - but he also told this year's would-be Emmy winners that he will subtract $1,000 for every second they go over their allotted 45-second speaking time in an attempt to keep things rolling.

Bargatze also said he would add $1,000 for every second they came under that threshold.

The night's first winner, Seth Rogen, added $6,000 to the running tally.
