The event reportedly broke records for any Republican National Committee donor gathering on the Massachusetts island. "J.D. Vance as RNC finance chair has been a difference maker already," one strategist told the New York Post. "If you look at the DNC, there is no one with a similar stature headlining event after event for them." Attendance at the dinner came with a hefty price tag - couples paid a minimum of $100,000, while joining the "host committee" required a $250,000 contribution. _ The RNC is already outpacing its Democratic counterpart in 2025 fundraising efforts, bringing in more than $96 million to date. In comparison, the Democratic National Committee has raised more than $69 million and currently reports a little more than $15 million in cash on hand. _ Rob Reynolds, CEO of Putnam Investments and Chair of Great-West Lifeco U.S., and his wife, Laura Reynolds, played a major role in organizing the successful fundraiser. The couple has a history of hosting high-profile GOP events including a 2022 "Take Back the Senate" dinner that featured then-Senate candidate J.D. Vance. They were joined by veteran Republican donor Dave Kelsey, who founded a political action committee aimed at electing Republicans to office in Connecticut, further aiding in the event's success.
