Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East's relationship is worthy of an Olympic medal. The athletic couple met through Andrew's brother Guy East when the gymnast was in London working as a sports commentator for the 2012 Olympics, in which Guy was competing in the cycling events. "[Guy] starts to go on this tangent about this little brother of his and how I have to meet him," Johnson East recalled in a 2018 vlog, noting Guy wanted to play matchmaker because she was applying to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where Andrew was a student.
