The New York Yankees held a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk in the wake of his sudden death. The controversial political commentator was fatally shot on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was 31. The baseball team honored Kirk ahead of its Wednesday game against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium. As well as the moment of silence, the team paid tribute to Kirk by displaying a photo of him on the jumbotron alongside the words "Remembering Charlie Kirk.
