Tolkien Estate to its list of literary estates. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) is best known for his tales set in the world of Middle-earth, considered part of the foundations of the modern fantasy genre with works such as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, later adapted into globally successful films. The Rings of Power, Amazon's billion-dollar prequel series to Peter Jackson's award-winning movies, is currently shooting season three. "As a family, we remain deeply conscious of the responsibility of looking after J.R.R. Tolkien's literary works and legacy," said the Tolkien Estate, who had no previous representation.
