Charlie Sheen revealed the reason behind his decision to go under the knife. In his newly released memoir, The Book of Sheen, out Tuesday, September, 9, Sheen, 60, opened up about his decision to get liposuction. While reflecting on a trip to Toronto, he shared that he had hired a sex worker to end his "celibacy streak." "If any of us look back on the moments that defined us or influenced major decisions, they tend to include a foreshadowing detail, others right near the surface or buried deeper for latent discovery," he wrote. "Case in point: I was mid-puff into a post-euphoric cigarette with my Canadian insta-girlfriend, when the young lady reached over and slapped my bare stomach with a room-filling thwack to get my attention." He continued, recalling the sex worker saying, "'Whattaya say, Fatso - you up for round two?'" The words cut deep for Sheen, who felt like he wanted to "blow [his] brains out." Sami Sheen Calls Her Rhinoplasty the 'Best Decision' 1 Year After Surgery "It's amazing where one word can send a guy," the actor added. "That one sent me straight to a lipo doctor about a week after I got back to LA." Sheen noted that gaining weight is common after getting sober. "I'd always defend it by telling people I'd rather be a bit soft and alive than crack-skinny and dead," he wrote, adding that by the time he discussed making the sitcom Sugar Hill, which aired in 1999, he had lost 25 pounds. Ariana Grande and More Stars Who Opened Up About Plastic Surgery Throughout the book, Sheen also opened about his struggles with addiction, as well as his 1998 overdose and time in rehab. He got candid about using cocaine, crack, marijuana, alcohol and Nubain, an opioid pain medication. He's been sober since 2017. Sheen's memoir is accompanied by a Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, which will be released on the streaming platform on Wednesday, September 10.
