Ahead of the one-hour preshow special, hosted by Nessa and Kevan Kenney, on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, stars have already started walking the red carpet. The preshow is airing live on MTV and BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, CMT, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1. There will also be a special performance by girl group and first-time nominees KATSEYE, who will be performing "Gnarly" and "Gabriela" from their Beautiful Chaos EP. As for this year's nominees, Lady Gaga leads the pack with 12 nominations, including for video of the year (for "Die With a Smile"), artist of the year and album of the year for Mayhem. Bruno Mars also has 11 noms, followed by Kendrick Lamar with 10. Lamar's "Not Like Us" will also compete for the top prize, video of the year, alongside Gaga and Mars' "Die With a Smile," Rosé and Mars' "APT.," Ariana Grande's "Brighter Days Ahead," Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather," Sabrina Carpenter's "Manchild" and The Weeknd and Playboy Carti's "Timeless." The awards show will feature performances throughout the night from Gaga, Carpenter, Sombr, Alex Warren, J Balvin featuring DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Tate McRae and Conan Gray. Presenters also include Ashlee Simpson Ross, Brittany Snow, Ciara, KPop Demon Hunters' Huntrix (Audrey Nuna, EJAE and Rei Ami), Ice Spice, Jessica Simpson, Latto, Livvy Dunne, Malin Ackerman, Meg Stalter, Nikki Glaser and Paris Hilton. The 2025 VMAs, hosted by LL COOL J, will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from Long Island's UBS Arena on Sept. 7.
