Watch: Why Channing Tatum Says He'll Never Be Cool to His DaughterChanning Tatum's daughter Everly Tatum is unimpressed. When it comes to sharing his career with his 12-year-old daughter-who he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan-the Magic Mike actor admitted that no matter how many of his movies she sees, he will never be able to truly impress her. "She has seen tons of them," Channing exclusively told E! News' Francesca Amiker of his daughter during the world premiere of his new movie Roofman at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. "She's like, 'Whatever, I don't wanna see those.' She acts like she doesn't care." He added, "I'm never gonna be cool to her." But while Everly may not be quick to show how much she enjoys seeing her dad on the big screen, she haspaid a visit to the set of Roofman. In fact, Channing emphasized that, while she hasn't his portrayal of real-life criminal Jeffrey Manchester just yet, she definitely plans on seeing the film. photosJenna Dewan & Channing Tatum's Divorce BattleAs for how the 45-year-old connected to a character of such nature? Well, he tapped into some of the feelings of isolation he imagined Jeffrey-who became notorious for robbing fast food franchises from their roof-felt after escaping prison and hiding for six months in a toy store. "This whole movie, I'm in every frame of it and I don't get a lot of time with people," Channing explained to E!. "So a lot of the movie, I'm by myself. You don't have your fellow actors there and then there are days that they show up and you're like, 'Oh hi!' I get to be in a scene with someone and I'm not just on an island by myself." "I can imagine that's a version of what he was feeling," he continued of his character. "Just the isolation, and prison is the worst isolation. He put himself in a different prison in a toy store, but he's doing the best he could with the best he had." Beyond tapping into feelings of isolation, the actor also recently detailed how his mental health suffered when he lost an extreme amount of weight in preparation for the film.

Instagram/Channing Tatum"I had only planned to get down to 185," he told Variety earlier this month. "And then, just once, I was already going, and just the days of shooting, it kept coming off, and I got down to like 172." But it was only when assistant director Mariela Comitini voiced her concern on set that the Blink Twice star had an epiphany. "I was like, 'I think you're right. This is weird,'" he continued. "It was a sort of emptiness and a sadness to it. I would just see myself, and I would seem hollow. And the movie, a lot for me, was a lot on loneliness, and a real meditation for that wanting to be full and trying to fill an empty vessel." He added, "That empty feelings sucks after a little while." For more stars who made an appearance at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival, keep reading...
