The deal will see The Andy Beshear Podcast launch Sept. 10, with the Kentucky Democratic politician in a blue state interviewing House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries at SiriusXM's New York City studios. All podcast episodes will air weekly on SiriusXM Progress channel 127, with SiriusXM Media looking to sell the audio product internationally. Related Stories Business Hope for Howard? "I want this podcast to be a space to bring people together - especially in such a stressful and divisive time in our country," Beshear said in a statement on Thursday. "This is a conversation with friends and we talk about things that matter to all of us: sports, politics, pop culture, our kids. I'm excited to expand this conversation with listeners across the country on SiriusXM, highlighting a wide range of voices and ideas that can help move us all forward, together," he added. Beshear with his SiriusXM deal is following the lead of U.S. President Donald Trump who reached out to podcasters and livestreamers during the 2024 election campaign with a media strategy that ultimately helped lead him back the White House. That growing influencer base among podcasters contrasts with the declining reach of legacy TV networks and cable channels. Fellow 2028 contender California Gov. Gavin Newsom partnered with the radio and podcast giant iHeartMedia this year for his own show, This is Gavin Newsom, that has made headlines for its mix of conservative and liberal guests. The Andy Beshear Podcast will also be available on major podcast platforms, and with video available on YouTube.
