Taylor Hill / Getty Images In April 2022, during the production of Aziz's movie Being Mortal, Bill was accused of sexual misconduct by a younger female crew member, which was reportedly settled for $100,000. Samir Hussein / Getty Images Bill spoke to the New York Times about the situation in April. "I don't go too many days or weeks without thinking of what happened. ... I dunno what prompted me to do it," he said. "It's something that I had done to someone else before, and I thought it was funny, and every time it happened, it was funny.""I was wearing a mask, and I gave her a kiss, and she was wearing a mask. It wasn't like I touched her, but it was just, I gave her a kiss through a mask. And she wasn't a stranger," he recalled. Bill did say that he learned from the experience, adding, "But it was a great disappointment, because I thought I knew someone, and I did not." In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Aziz spoke out about how Bill was "devastated" when the alleged incident occurred, leading to an internal on-set investigation and the suspension of the project indefinitely. Afterward, Aziz said in the interview, "Everybody's texting me, 'Oh Aziz, I'm so sorry.' And I said, 'Oh God, I can't live in this woe-is-me moment.'" Mega / Getty Images According to the publication, Aziz completed about three-quarters of Being Mortal before the studio canceled the shoot. All was not lost, because Aziz went on to write and direct the upcoming comedy Good Fortune. When Being Mortal was shelved, Aziz told THR that he called up Seth. "I said, 'Hey, I know you're supposed to be filming Being Mortal, so you're free today,'" he recalled.
