Simone Joyner / Getty Images To keep you up to date, speculation that Drake underwent a surgical procedure to get a "sculpted stomach" began way back in 2016 when media personality and ex-rapper Joe Budden dropped a now-infamous post on X (then Twitter) suggesting that Drizzy had taken a trip to see Dr. Miami, who is a popular plastic surgeon among celebrities. Noel Vasquez / Getty Images In the years since then, artists like Pusha T and Megan Thee Stallion have hinted at the surgery speculation in their songs. Although neither rapper has fueled the speculation quite like Drake's nemesis, Kendrick Lamar, who rapped on his song "euphoria" in April 2024: "Let your core audience stomach that, then tell 'em where you get your abs from." Cbs Photo Archive / Getty Images On "Meet The Grahams," another diss track aimed at Drake that was released in May 2024, Kendrick doubled down on the surgery rumors, accusing the Canadian star of lying about the work he'd allegedly had done. There is no actual proof to suggest that Drake ever went under the knife. And, for what it's worth, he did kind of address the rumors back in 2019 when one of his friends, DJ Carnage, left a comment on his Instagram post saying that he "got fake ab surgery in Colombia." At the time, Drake replied saying: "Is this cause you are angry about the one thing that happened with that one person the other day that you thought was your wifey?" Mark Blinch / Getty Images And now, with the surgery speculation still swirling all these years later, Drake has commented on the topic yet again during an appearance on Bobbi Althoff's Not This Again podcast on Sept. 2. Bobbi Althoff / Via youtu.be "People think you got a procedure done," Bobbi asked, specifying that she was referring to the alleged work on his abs. Drake straight up denied getting the procedure, and cheekily joked: "People also say that I got a BBL [Brazilian Butt Lift]. They call me 'BBL Drizzy.'" Bobbi Althoff / Via youtu.be "I don't know if my wagon looked crazy when I walked in here," he joked, seemingly hinting towards the absurdity of the claim, which was fuelled by Megan Thee Stallion's song "HISS," as well as Metro Boomin's parody diss-track, "BBL Drizzy," which went viral during the height of Drake and Kendrick's feud. As you may know, the speculation about Drake's alleged ab surgery fired up again this summer when he posted a shirtless selfie on IG, in which his abdominal muscles looked very, very defined. The post was quickly flooded with comments mocking him and accusing him of getting work done, and now, the 38-year-old has confessed to editing the viral photo, which remains live on his IG page. @champagnepapi / Via instagram.com "I came from the gym, I was sweaty in that pic," he said, before confessing to "maybe" using the "detail" tool on the popular photo editing app, Facetune. "Just being honest. Maybe I heightened the saturation or something on it. I think I hit it too hard. They don't look like that." Bobbi Althoff / Via youtu.be Drake certainly wouldn't be the first celebrity to fall into the trap of over-editing their selfies, but what do you make of this whole thing? I, for one, cannot believe that this man just confessed to having Facetune on his phone and using it. LMK your thoughts in the comments.
