The sixth Ice Age film is now named: Ice Age: Boiling Point. At the Destination D23 event held in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, the title was officially announced. Also revealed is its theatrical release date, which is set for Feb. 5, 2027. The news comes after it was confirmed earlier this year that the next Ice Age film was in production. According to Disney, here is the film's official logline: "Ice Age: Boiling Point is a dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure that takes Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat and the rest of the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World." The franchise debuted in 2002 and spanned its sequels, including The Meltdown (2006), Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), Continental Drift (2012) and Collision Course (2016). The latter film grossed nearly $409 million worldwide. Spinoffs include The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022) and the Disney+ series Ice Age: Scrat Tales (2022). Also announced at D23 is Disney's next original animated film, Hexed. The movie, "Follows an awkward teenage boy and his Type - A mom, who discover that what makes him unusual, might just be magical powers that will turn their lives and a secret world of magic, upside down."
