Zoë Kravitz is dropping hints about Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl - starting with her involvement. "You previously wrote a song for [Taylor]," Kravitz's Caught Stealing costar Austin Butler said in a Thursday, August 28, interview as part of Vanity Fair's lie detector test series. "Do you have a song on Taylor's new album, The Life of a Showgirl?" Kravitz, 35, quickly pointed out that she previously contributed to Swift's 2022 album, Midnights, and did the same for The Life of a Showgirl. "Do I have a song? No," she told Butler, 34, of the upcoming record. "I didn't even write a full song. It's, like, a song that she wrote, and I wrote a part of the melody in the song. I didn't write the song." Taylor Swift and Zoe Kravitz's Friendship Timeline: Everything to Know The test administrator subsequently revealed that Kravitz was telling the truth about her musical role. Swift, 35, announced earlier this month that her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, will be released on Friday, October 3. She recorded the LP while on the European leg of her Eras Tour last year. "I would do three shows in a row, [and then] I'd have three days off," Swift told fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, on their "New Heights" podcast on the August 13 episode. "I'd fly to Sweden, [then] go back to the tour. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating." Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott Swift previously collaborated with producers Max Martin and Shellback on her albums Red and Reputation. "It meant the world to me to have this creative experience, where we knew that we had to bring the best ideas we've ever said," the 14-time Grammy winner said. "I also know the pressure I'm putting on this record by saying that, but I don't care 'cause I love it that much, and I'm so proud of it. It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in my life. So, that effervescence has come through on this record." Travis, 35, noted at the time that the album's 12 songs are all "bangers," and he already can't stop listening to the entire lineup. Taylor Swift's 12th Album 'The Life of a Showgirl': What We Know So Far "I keep listening to this album and I know she mentioned that it's gonna be a lot more pop beats and everything, but it's still so poetic and her melodies and her references and stuff," Travis said on the Wednesday, August 27, episode of the podcast. "[It's] just so much fun to listen [to]. I've been dancing throughout the house." Travis further revealed that "Opalite" - which fans have theorized is about the Kansas City Chiefs tight end since opal is his birthstone - is already his favorite track. "At least right now, every time it comes on, I always catch myself [vibing]," he gushed. Kravitz is also a fan of The Life of a Showgirl. "It's fantastic, of course. No skips," she told Extra earlier in August.
