In a Monday, July 21, town hall meeting, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said that the suspect reportedly shot the pair with their own gun that he found inside after breaking into the home, according to CBS News. The accused man then called the police on himself, per ABC7 Los Angeles. Hochman said on Monday that the suspect used his cellphone to call authorities and provided his name, according to the outlet.
