Trading in his trademark soul-soaked balladry for a surging, melodic pop-rock anthem, Morrison injects fresh fire into his upcoming album - and his live sets are about to feel the spark. Still, the emotional core that's made him a fan favourite is firmly intact. With lyrics that feel like a reassuring arm around your shoulder, Morrison turns heartbreak into a rallying cry for renewal, proving that even in reinvention, his gift for stirring the heartstrings remains unmatched. Commenting on the rousing track, the BRIT Award winner says via a press release: "I wrote this song for a friend - it's about the breakdown of a relationship, when things have ended but there's still love and care between two people. It's that sentiment of saying: 'If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be here'. I wanted to wrap that emotion in an upbeat, feel-good pop sound with a summery vibe. Even though the story behind it is bittersweet, I think it carries a really warm and positive message." Arriving six years after his previous studio record, James' sixth LP 'Fight Another Day' is set to be released Friday, October 3rd 2025. Made up of 13 emotionally charged tracks, the collection finds Morrison in a place of hope, as he aims to both celebrate everything that's good in life, and inspire a fighting spirit in listeners to keep going no matter what obstacles they face. Touching upon influences both old (Stevie Wonder, George Harrison) and new (Imagine Dragons, AWOLNATION), the record has been entirely written or co-written by James, who also co-produced the record with his long-term collaborator Mark Taylor. His other co-writers include the two-time Ivor Novello winner Eg White plus Daniel Merriweather, Connor Reeves, Andy Platt (Young Gun Silver Fox), Adam James and Kjetil Mørland.
