The world has lost a rock legend. Ozzy Osbourne is dead at 76. His family confirmed the devastating news in a statement to The Sun on Tuesday, saying he passed away "surrounded by love." They continued: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." What a heartbreaking loss! Ozzy's death comes after he reunited with his bandmates from Black Sabbath for a 10-hour farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, earlier this month. And it was a special night for many reasons. Not only because the singer performed one last time, but he also witnessed daughter Kelly Osbourne getting engaged! Her boyfriend, Slipknot member Sid Wilson, got down on one knee and proposed backstage. What a special day! We're glad Ozzy got to have those two moments before his death... He founded the influential heavy metal band Black Sabbath alongside Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler in 1968, creating genre-defining music with them for over a decade until 1979. He was infamously kicked out of the group due to his drug addiction. Unfortunately that, too, was legendary. However, Ozzy didn't stop. He went on to pursue a solo career, releasing 13 albums on his own - including some real metal classics. He also founded OzzFest, a music festival where up-and-coming metal bands, many inspired by Ozzy himself, played for over 20 years. In addition to a music career, Ozzy became iconic in another field: reality TV. Ozzy, Sharon, and their kids, Jack and Kelly, starred on the popular show The Osbournes, which premiered on MTV in March 2022. His other children, Aimee, whom he shares with Sharon, and Jessica Osbourne and Louis Osbourne, whom he had with ex-wife Thelma Riley, were not on the cast. Sadly, the performer also struggled with his health over the years. Ozzy revealed he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in January 2020, which he kept a secret for over 15 years. This month, Kelly took to social media to slam an AI-generated video of her father admitting he is "going to die." She insisted the rockstar was "not dying" amid his battle with the progressive brain disorder. It's so sad how things turned out weeks later... Our hearts go out to the Osbourne family.
