And one of the topics discussed in the video was the elaborate clothing she wore while shooting the 2018 film The Favourite, which was directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Atsushi Nishijima / Fox Searchlight / Everett Collection Reflecting on how painful this was, Emma - who admitted that it was her "first time ever really wearing a corset" - said that her organs literally shifted as a result of the restrictive clothing. Because it was extremely tight, it pulls you in," she explained. Vogue / Via youtube.com "I've got a very big ribcage, so it's an intense thing to manoeuvre," she continued. "My body was definitely not built for a corset," she said, adding that she's now able to hold her breath for a "long time" underwater, which she believes is a result of wearing the tight corsets. Vogue / Via youtube.com This isn't the first time that Emma has opened up about the damage caused by her corsets on The Favourite. Back in 2018, when the film was released, the actor said that she "couldn't breathe" for the first month of shooting. Mark Ralston / Getty Images Detailing how she managed to cope, Emma recalled, "I would smell menthol and it would make me think I was in a wide-open space and could breathe for a moment in time.""After a month, all my organs shifted - it was gross, and if you don't have to, don't do it!" she added.
