"A lot of my choices, especially when I wasn't using my voice as often, my fashion choices were decisive. And they were really designed to uplift a lot of smaller brands that people might not know about," she said. _ Meghan Markle especially chafed against one particular royal dress code rule: "It was different several years ago when I couldn't be as vocal and I had to wear [flesh-tone] pantyhose all the time. Let's be honest, that was not very myself," she said. "I hadn't seen pantyhose since the movies in the '80s when they came in the little egg. That felt a little bit inauthentic. And that's a silly example." _ With her senior royal days behind her, Meghan Markle has fully embraced her more laid-back and modern aesthetic. "It is an example of when you're able to dress the way you want to dress and you are able to say the things you want to say that are true and be able to show up in a space that is really organically and authentically, that's being comfortable in your own skin," the Suits alum said. "Of course, I have had different chapters in my life. But right now, I don't feel I need to prove anything." _ Celebrity stylist Cynthia Kennedy picked up on how Meghan Markle's style for Season 2 of With Love, Meghan made a statement about how much she's changed since retiring from her royal duties. "Her revamped style is sending everyone a message that I don't have to dress like a duchess anymore. I get to dress like myself and be more approachable, modern, authentic and real," the fashion expert explained. "Her choices feel deliberate and more like a conscious move toward comfort, vulnerability, relatability and ease without losing that sense of polish that keeps her aspirational. It's a careful balance and I think she's hitting it." MEGA MEGA MEGA JAKE ROSENBERG/NETFLIX Courtesy of Netflix Up Next The post Meghan Markle slams royal dress code appeared first on Wonderwall.com.
